The Orient Express Silver Medallion
Client: Royal Dutch Mint
Art director: Edwin Hoogewijs
For release in 2016, award-winning Canadian illustrator, Scott Plumbe, created an art deco inspired Orient Express illustration for the Royal Dutch Mint's upcoming series of 12 silver medallions: Te Land Ter Zee en in De Lucht! (Land to the Sea and in the Air!)
This Oriental Express train illustration is based on a poster Scott created several years ago and has since been licensed and adapted for use by multiple clients: Welsh National Opera, The Royal Geographic Society (UK), the cover of Franco Tanel's Trains and an Arts Umbrella's annual art auction fundraiser.
